KNOW YOUR SETTINGS

Better aim starts with
understanding your sens.

Practical guides to game sensitivity, DPI, eDPI, field of view and ADS. Build a consistent setup—not chase a magic number.

How sensitivity conversion works

A sensitivity number is specific to the game that interprets it. Games can use different yaw values, input scaling, FOV conventions and ADS models, so copying the same number does not necessarily produce the same turn distance.

A reliable converter uses verified game-specific parameters and clearly explains assumptions. Treat unverified results as estimates.

A practical workflow

  • Select the exact source and destination game.
  • Keep mouse DPI consistent.
  • Convert hip-fire first, then tune ADS and scopes.
  • Test turn distance in a practice area.
Remember: matching turn distance does not guarantee identical visual feel across FOVs or game engines.

DPI and eDPI explained

DPI is the mouse sensor's counts-per-inch setting. eDPI is commonly calculated as DPI multiplied by in-game sensitivity, and is most useful for comparisons within the same game.

Example

At 800 DPI and 0.30 sensitivity, eDPI is 240. At 400 DPI and 0.60 sensitivity, eDPI is also 240. Input settings and game behavior still matter.

Field of View (FOV)

FOV controls how much of the game world is visible. Games may express horizontal or vertical FOV differently. A wider FOV can make targets appear smaller, changing perceived sensitivity even when turn distance is unchanged.

ADS and scope settings

Aim-down-sights sensitivity may use one global multiplier, per-optic values, or separate scope scaling. Establish a comfortable hip-fire setting first, then test the optics you use most often.

How to use pro player settings

Professional settings are reference points, not universal best settings. Check that profiles are recent and match the right game version. Change one variable at a time and allow enough practice to judge it fairly.

Tips & frequently asked questions

Should I use the same sensitivity in every game?

You can aim for consistent turn distance, but different game mechanics may feel different.

Is higher DPI always better?

No single DPI is best for everyone. Choose a stable setting that suits your mouse and preferences.

Why can a conversion feel different?

FOV, ADS scaling, acceleration, frame rate, input method and game mechanics can affect perceived aim.
