DPI or dots per inch is the measurement of the distance moved by the cursor on the screen with respect to the distance moved by the mouse physically. DPI is associated with the sensitivity and speed of movement of the cursor. DPI and sensitivity are different measurements, though. On one hand, DPI is a physical measurement of a mouse Sensitivity, on the other hand, is related to the software. At a higher DPI, the more the cursor moves, the more sensitive it feels. The accuracy of the mouse may be affected by high DPI because of more sensitivity.

eDPI refers to effective dots per inch. It is mostly talked about in gaming and its value is obtained by multiplying the DPI of your mouse and the in-game sensitivity of your mouse. This gives out a conclusive value for games that enables them to control their in-game mouse sensitivity. In addition to this, eDPI value helps the users to gain accuracy, precision, and efficient tracking without stressing their arm and wrists. It varies from user to user. While some pro gamers may prefer a lower value of eDPI, beginners should analyze their style and set the eDPI value accordingly.
